CA Foundation Registration 2024

ICAI has revised the CA Foundation registration deadlines according to their new scheme. Now, the candidates can appear for the exam three times a year starting from June 2024: in May/ June, September, and January. The registration process for the September 2024 session is open until May 1, 2024. The May 2024 exam is the first one under this new scheme. Candidates can only be considered eligible if they register with ICAI’s Board of Studies at least four months before the exam month.

ICAI Foundation Registration 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To register for the CA Foundation exam 2024, ensure that you meet the following criteria:

  • Pass or going to appear in the 12th board exams which is recognise by the Central Government.
  • Complete the registration process before Feb 1, 2024, and complete a four-month study period for the September 2024 exam.
  • Get register with the ICAI Board of Studies.

Documents Required for CA Foundation Registration 2024

Ensure you have the following documents to submit in the online registration process for the CA Foundation exam 2024:

  • Admit Card/ Marksheets of 12th class exams issued by the respective board.
  • A coloured passport-size photograph of the candidate.
  • The proof of Nationality for foreign students.
  • Special category certificate (ST/SC/OBC or differently-abled).

How to Register for the CA Foundation Exam Online?

  • Visit the official website of ICAI, i.e., icaiexam.icai.org
  • Enter your information and click Generate OTP. Use the OTP sent to your mobile or email.
  • Sign in using the credentials that were sent to you via Email/SMS.
  • Select Student Cycle and then ‘Apply for Foundation’
  • Fill in the form, although, some details will be auto-filled. Click ‘Save and Next.’
  • Upload the scanned documents required for CA Foundation exam registration.
  • Upload your coloured passport-size photograph as well as your full signature.
  • Pay the registration fees for the CA Foundation exam.

Print out the registration form, attach the documents along with it and send them through mail to ICAI’s postal address.

ICAI Foundation Registration 2024 Fees

The registration fee for the CA Foundation exam 2024 is Rs. 9,800 for Indian students and $780 for US students. Payment is made online, either through net banking or credit/debit cards, during registration. The most significant fact that should be highlighted is that the ICAI registration fee for the Foundation course is non-refundable.

ICAI has announced a 75% fee concession for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and the 8 Northeastern states. Students in these areas can now pay a lower CA Foundation registration fee of only Rs 2250. 

Validity of CA Foundation Registration 2024

CA Foundation exams are held twice a year by the ICAI organisation. Your CA Foundation registration is valid for three years, and you have six attempts to appear for the exam. After the validity of your registration expires, you will have to revalidate your registration by paying a revalidation fee of Rs 300.

What After CA Foundation Registration 2024?

Once the registration for the CA Foundation course is complete on time, ICAI sends the study material through CDS. Students are required to follow ICAI’s schedule and take a 4-month study leave after that to be well prepare for the CA Foundation exam.

  • Fill in the CA Foundation 2024 exam form after registering to be eligible to take the exams.
  • Download the admit cards online, print them, and carry them to the examination centre.
